Giving Thanks
Well goodness turkey me, I never imagined my last post would invoke that much interest! I honestly thought it’d be the kind of post that would only interest a few fellow bloggers, so I have to admit the outpouring of support and thanks was completely overwhelming. I’m still working through all the comments, but be assured I have read and felt the love in each and every one. What an amazing gift! Thank you!
Also for those worried, fear not that I’m about to ditch the blog-world. I still enjoy our blog-sharing journey and as long as the inspiration to write continues to fill me, I’ll continue to be here. The positive community that surrounds RVing is one of the core reasons I’ve blogged for so long . It’s a huge part of what makes this journey of ours so rich and inspiring. YOU folks are key to this, and for that I give you my deepest, most heartfelt thanks!
So today I not only give thanks to you, but also is also to the many other things that enrich my life -> my family, my dear friends, my rock of a husband (who I love more deeply each year), my simple life (which I am soooo thankful to have been able to discover) and all the positive possibilities that the future holds. Life is not always easy or smooth, but if it is lived with intent and love it can be a most fulfilling journey. May your day be filled with thanks and joy!

I discovered your blog last night and ended up spending two hours exploring this super-informative site. Living above the 49th parallel we end up dreaming more of the time than living it. Retire in a year and will be that much more richer after studying your ideas and offerings. Happy thanksgiving to you both.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and Paul. I’m also glad to see the amount of people stepping up to show their support as it is so well deserved.
Btw – how do you manage cooking the big bird out there on the road?
libertatemamo says
Yup, Paul’s dad carries a turkey fryer in his RV so we deep fried the bird. Done and eaten (well, mostly anyway…there may be 5-6 days of left overs)

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. This is our first Thanksgiving on the road in our RV, and we found it absolulty wonderful. We are staying at a small RV Park in Arizona, the Campground hosts and the owners threw a Thanksgiving feast for all those who are staying here. It was tremendous the food was wonderful, and meeting all the like souls who all are, at least part time nomads. I ended up setting with a fellow retired peace officer, we hit it off great, his wife of 62 years, and mine of 46 years were indoors helping prepare the feast, while we sat outside sharing war stories. When we gathered to eat, we sat together, it was like finding a lost relative. I am loving this living in a Motor Home more and more each day.
I wanted to thank you once again for your blog that was one of the reasons we are where we are today. Your writing of the joys of the road convinced me that we could do it as well.
libertatemamo says
So glad you enjoyed your first Thanksgiving on the road! Here at Sam’s they offer a Thanksgiving dinner too, and although we didn’t attend I just love that they do that. Absolutely anyone staying at the park can attend. It’s such a friendly and thoughtful thing.

Not only has it’s been a great resource for us but I just enjoy your writing style and stunning photography!
Many thanks!

I too enjoyed the way you write and the beautiful pictures you share. I don’t have the blog to RV full time but I am grateful there are those that do. And write blogs about their journeys, sharing them with us all.

There is much to be thankful for in our lives, friends, family and communities on this journey through life.
MizK says
Thank you for your wor. How I love your photos! When I see how many comments you have, I can’t help but wonder if responding to comments takes longer than writing the posts. How do you handle them all (the irony that I am requesting a response is not lost on me…)?
libertatemamo says
Haha…I have to admit I’ve had more comments in these past 2 posts than ever! It definitely takes some time to read and reply (and I DO like to reply), but it’s also part of the blogging process that I really, truly enjoy. Interacting with the community is fun.

I’m a little late responding to this Thanksgiving string but wanted to thank you for the time you spend blogging and providing information to the experienced and inexperienced RV crowd. While the technical and lifestyle advice you provide is invaluable to anyone living or wishing to live this lifestyle these are not what I love most about your writing. When I read your words I am simply inspired! Inspired to explore what is around the bend or over the next mountain. Inspired to be a little less traditional and little more quirky. Inspired to meet a new friend or help out where I can. I can sense the sheer joy and satisfaction you both have experienced walking away from a “normal” life into a lifestyle that provides adventure and new challenges on daily basis. I will join you on the road in 180 days (who’s counting? I am!). While I totally respect the legal copyright you have on your blog I hope to blatantly steal the inspiration you have unwittingly provided. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences. I would like to be the first to wish you and your furry family the happiest of New Years!!
libertatemamo says
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I wish you a wonderful end of year too!
